Summary: Ryo is a poor boy while Tatsuya is one of the richest people in the city. In a series of unfortunate events for Ryo, he finds himself owing Tatsuya and ends up paying off the debt as his servant. Ryo hates the cold, manipulative Tatsuya, but is there more to the heir than it seems? And does Ryo actually hate him?

Ryo woke up to a pounding headache as he heard the ringing of his cell phone echo obnoxiously in the spacious room. He pressed a hand to his head as he flipped open the screen and answered it groggily, “Hello?”

“Where the hell are you? You were supposed to be at work an hour ago!” Ryo’s eyes wandered to the alarm clock that was on the bed stand. 9:04. “Fuck.” Ryo swore and stumbled out of bed as best as he could while fighting the headache that was overcoming him.  He tossed the covers off of himself and rushed to the dresser. Looking down he was naked. What the hell had happened last night?

He grabbed a  T-shirt and jeans and ran to the bathroom to get changed and get ready in as minimal time as possible. Shit, I can’t lose my job. Ryo thought as he combed his fingers through his hair. He ran back to his bedroom to get his bag before leaving but when he returned and saw the disheveled bed, his breath caught.

When he had run out of the bed and tossed the covers off, he hadn’t realized what he had exposed, but when he returned he noticed a fleshy appendage lying in the area where he had once been. Ryo cautiously approached the arm that peeked out from under the covers. And hesitantly, as it the covers were concealing a dangerous animal. In a fluid motion, as if ripping off a bandage, Ryo pulled the covers off the bed.

Much to his surprise, and chagrin, there was a body lying in the bed. In his bed. The man was lying face down on the bed, his face was partially concealed by the fluffy pillow, but Ryo could distinguish his feminine features and if not for the lack of female anatomy, Ryo would have mistaken him for a girl. In fact, that’s probably what did happen yesterday while he was intoxicated because Ryo was not gay.

Ryo was definitely not gay. He blinked his eyes and tried to remember the name of the man that was now occupying his bed. What was it again? Tadashi. No. Takumi. Nope. Tetsuya. That’s it, though his memory was blurry Ryo gently poked at the heap of human that was shamelessly lying naked in his bed.

“Tetsuya-san.” The man just groaned and murmured something like “It’s too early.” Ryo sighed in frustration. He didn’t have time for this. “Okay, so there’s not much in the fridge, I have to go to work so just leave when you are ready, okay?”

Ryo picked up his bag and left his apartment, this is just a bad dream, a really bad dream. He told himself over and over again as he jetted off to work. I did not sleep with a guy. And if I did it was because I thought that he was a girl. And why the fuck can’t I remember anything from last night? But I’ll never see him again and let’s just put this in the past. It never happened. He didn’t have the luxury for a full-scale freak out so he tried to push it to the back of his mind and focus on getting to work.

“You’re late.” Ryo’s boss said as he attempted to sneak into work.

“I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.”

“That’s what you said the last time. Here pass these out. We’ll talk about it when you come back.” Ryo sighed knowing that the talk that would follow was not going to be a good one. It wasn’t even like he like the stupid job, but it was enough to get by with paying the bills and to help paying off the debt that his parents left him when they died, and he couldn’t afford to lose it.

He begrudgingly took the stack of flyers from his boss’s hands and took a company bike out to pass out the flyers. He was happy when there was a mailbox outside and he didn’t have to get off his bike to distribute the pamphlets, but it was rare in Tokyo to find such places so he often had to dismount his bike and get back on. The worst part was that occasionally people would be outside and he would hand the flyers directly to them and they would just throw them on the ground in front of him.

Ryo sighed. He was on the way back to the business riding his bike along the road when at a sparely populated intersection, a limousine ran a stop sign and collided with Ryo’s bicycle knocking him off of the bike seat and onto the unforgiving pavement.

The driver of the limousine clad in a suit rushed out to help him onto his feet. “I’m so sorry are you okay?”

“Did you not see the stop sign?” The driver apologized repeatedly and Ryo brushed himself off. His palms were bloodied from where he had made contact with the pavement and there were small pieces of gravel embedded it them, and his jeans had ripped open exposing a bloody knee as well, but considering the collision, Ryo was lucky to walk away with only superficial injuries.

Suddenly the car door opened from the passenger side and another man walked out. He was dressed similarly, but had a completely different aura than the driver. He strode up silently to the front of the car and his finger gently graced the hood of the car.

His eyes scrutinized the hood and he suddenly pointed to the area where Ryo had collided with it. The paint was chipped and there was an obvious dent on the hood of the car. “There. How are you going to pay me?”

“What?”

“I don’t like it when people break my things. How are you going to pay me back?”

“Master-” The driver protested but was silenced by a single hand gesture.

“You hit me.” Ryo declared.

“Do you think the police will believe that? Look at you, look at me, there are no camera’s here it is your word against mine. So how are you going to pay me?”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” Ryo muttered aloud to compound on his already shitty day.

“I have to get back to work.” Ryo said and picked up his bike pedaling away. The other man’s lips quirked upwards into a sort of smirk and he ordered the driver, “Follow him.” The driver unwillingly agreed and followed the man to a nook of Tokyo and when they saw Ryo park the bike and enter, the master got out of the car and opened the door.

“Ryo, I like you but you keep coming in late, I can’t keep giving you chances.”

“I’m sorry, but please I really need this job, give me one more chance.” The master entered the main room after hearing splices of the conversation and interrupted. “I’m looking for the manager.”

When Ryo turned his head and recognized him as the man whose car had hit him his eyes widened and he swore.

Turning to the boss, the man who’d just entered said, “I’m Tatsuya Ueda. This man just hit my car and he’s not taking responsibility for it.” Tatsuya, why did that name sound so familiar? “Shouldn’t he pay for the damages done?” The manager agreed and forced Ryo to step forward and bow in apology.

“How much?”  Ryo sighed. He didn’t see an easy way around paying so he decided to bite the bullet.

“100,000,000 yen.”

“What? I don’t have that kind of money.” Ryo declared.

“Obviously, with this kind of job.” Tatsuya sniffed. “So you will begin to work for me.”

“What the hell is wrong with you? Are you born like this or did something happen to make you such a jackass?” Tatsuya frowned but didn’t answer.

“You just got fired, you are now in debt, and probably nobody will hire you. I’m giving you a good offer. You just have to work for me as my servant.”

“Damn it.” Tatsuya was right and Ryo hated that more than anything.

“The pay will be…generous.” Tatsuya said.

“Fine.” The manager, who’d been listening in on the conversation the entire time clapped his hands together.

“Good, Ryo you have a job and you’re doing the right thing.”

“Except, I didn’t do anything wrong.” Ryo mumbled.

“Come on, I’ll take you to your new workplace.” Tatsuya said and when he turned his back Ryo flipped him off.

In the car Ryo sat as far away from Tatsuya as possible and looked out the window. “Of course, you’ll be living there as well.”

“What?”

“All staff lives there.” Tatsuya said as flippantly as if he were talking about the weather.

Ryo wanted to cry, but he wouldn’t give Tatsuya the satisfaction of seeing him cry.

“You’re an asshole.”

When they arrived Ryo got out of the car and wanted to run away, but Tatsuya had a strong grip on his arm. “You weren’t this feisty in bed, too bad, it might have actually been enjoyable yesterday.” Ryo’s eyes widened in horror and looked up at Tatsuya’s face. Since the pillow had been obscuring Tatsuya’s features Ryo hadn’t immediately recognized him, but now that Tatsuya mentioned that Ryo recognized the tea-colored hair.

“Shit.” The mistake that he thought that he’d be able to forget was now standing right in front of him. Seeing the mark of realization on Ryo’s face, Tatsuya smirked. “You forgot about me? I’m so hurt.” He clapped a hand over his heart in mock pain.

Ryo was aggressively guided in, but now he didn’t even try to fight as he realized the truth. He’d slept with Tatsuya Ueda, the man whom, by some cruel twist of fate, he found himself indebted to.
