Hooray! 18! The vote! Bank accounts! Alcohol! Er, independence in general!
I had dinner at Amaroni's with pals, but was going to save my actual big celebration for this weekend. But Noah's Ark, where we had planned to stay overnight, was all booked up, and so was the place we were going to next opt for (Sunrise Resort in Lamma) so we've decided to go next weekend instead, which by all odds won't even feel like it's my bday celebration anymore but oh well, it'll be fun.
I haven't actually opened all my birthday presents yet because I'm dragging it out as long as I possibly can, but I did get a cheque for $1260 HK from my grandparents (!!!), a District 9 blu-ray from dad and yet another PageOne giftcard from mum. :P Dad's going to help me open my own bank account soon, once I find out what they want for me in terms of proof of residence.
I'm not sure, I feel like I wasted most of my 17th year being stuck in a pit of boring bland depression, so I'm kind of unnerved by how useless it seems to me now. But at least this gives me a fresh start. God, I hope uni is more fun.
Also, best thing ever (courtesy of my younger sibling):
