1. maths class. got our next portfolio piece, something about a girl called Angie and her dog Buddy and how they...run towards each other. yeah, its as exciting as it sounds
2. english, handed in essay which i stayed up til 1 working on. so tired... then we started Twelfth Night, by which i mean mr O rambled for the whole class, being stupid
"the ~SUBVERSION~ of GENDER ROLES! here we have viola, a GIRL playing a GUY. but in SHAKESPEARE'S time the characters were all played by MEN." great, mr O, not like we havent already heard of that before. its not as exciting or weird as you think.
"how many of you girls would ask a boy out if you fancied him? traditional stereotypes involve the man asking the GIRL. and here shakespeare is CHALLENGING the STEREOTYPES." uh, wtf? i think that kind of behaviour died out quite a while ago. girls are brave enough to ask guys out, and if theyre not, they fucking should be! (unless, of course, theyre just shy in general - but not for reasons of gender)
Dorian actually showed up because he likes shakespeare, but then joined me in my boredom as mr o went on and on and on. he wanted me to just pick up the play and read through it, but i had to actually pretend to be listening. sad. (dor also apparently prefers shakespeare's comedies over his tragedies. go figure?)
