as they say - blessed be :D got up at 5.15/5.30am and left at 6 to walk all the way to the crossroady bit with hong lok yuen (about 45 minute walk) to meet Rhi at the little grassy place we discovered last week. it's this block of concrete surrounded by grass and trees at the back (provided you ignore the highway) and with a river at the front. on the other bank of the river you have some power plant, but it's a nice looking one, so that's okay. but it's absolutely beautiful if you ignore all the manmade stuff, and when the sun comes up over the hill it's gorgeous.
I brought my dog Stella and we sat around for hours with a candle lit. Was slightly awkward trying not to get my suit dirty, but eh. We didn't do any special ceremonies or whatnot, though we did sing a bit of "Here Comes the Sun", lol XD Then we met up with Katie at 9-ish and headed back to my house, where dad drove us to the HLY park'n'shop so we could buy stuff to make our amateur yule log cake. We detoured off to fanling on the way home but nothing much happened. Anyway, we got back and did some lulzy amateur skits, Katie had to go, so after we made the cake. OUR METHOD OF CHEATING:
1. buy a butter pound cake from park'n'shop
2. melt chocolate and mix it with milk in a saucepan
3. spread on top of pound cake
4. melt chocolate and mix it with thick cream (the kind you can pour)
5. spread on top of first layer of chocolatey goodness
6. use a fork to make lines like a log pattern
7. use a sieve to dust icing sugar over it
8. enjoy!
after that, rhi went. I can't believe it's only 4pm...feels like the day has gone on FOREVER. heh. well, chillaxing time! :D merry yuletide~
