Seriously, I love you. I know this is so difficult, but good for you just doing it! The older I get, the more I so admire bravery and doing things that are hard. It's so easy to not do them, to not put yourself out there, to either not live your life, or live it because of what other people think. So I really admire your determination. Also, I'm fed up with the notion that the only acceptable body shape is stick thin, and everyone else has to hide lest we cause offense. Society needs to get over that. We all have a right to exist and to exist in whatever form we are in. You are working on getting healthy, mind & body, and that is something to be admired. So go you!
I love you, back! I love your pictures and your love of work and passion for music, it's all so inspiring to watch from the outside!
I did a walk today that's for a charity that wants girls 11-17 to know that no matter your body shape you can move. Love it. We need people to know it's not about what you look like and what size you fit into. I really am working on myself like that.
And that's awesome. I totally agree. It's so so easy to feel like you're not worth anything unless your are sample size, but it's not true and we need to fight that. There are so many factors that determine our size. And the older I get the more I feel like health is the number one key. And there are plenty of unhealthy skinny people. Post breast cancer it really was about eating more vegetables and walking more and just trying to make better choices. And make sustainable ones. Anyone can suffer through a crash diet for a period of time, but there's no way that's sustainable. And frankly life is too short to be miserable. But approaching it from the angle of trying to eat better foods (rather than totally depriving yourself), and wanting to be able to walk without getting tired and be able move comfortably - those are realistic things to aim for and are about making yourself healthy for the long term. So important. I think you are approaching this right and I send you all the encouragement in the world!
