Seeking a great romantic story

Lately I've been in the mood for a really good love story. Any ideas? I'm thinking of something along the lines of Outlander or The Time Traveler's Wife, two of my favorites. I'd like to fall in love with the character(s), but the storyline must also be able to stand on its own two feet*. I'm open to just about anything -- contemporary, historical, fantasy, etc. -- with the exception of sci-fi involving aliens/spaceships.

Come on now, throw your favorite romantic novels at me.
