*sigh*
I suppose since I'm feeling a bit angsty, I'll post here.
I recently found a new fad I want to get into. But I suppose I should start at the beginning.
I've wanted a dolfie for years... a nice, pretty doll to make clothes for. Well, they're dauntingly expensive and I've never found one I'm absolutely in love with, so I've held off.
... I found something new, cheap, and so much better, I think.
Rather than try to sew clothes for something tiny, what if I sculpted? Intrigued yet?
I found something called Pinky St. It's big in Japan (just like Nicole's shirt) and... it's freaking adorable. They have little four inch figurines that you swap out the clothes and legs and tops and hair pieces.... And they're very easily customized. Like, I've read up and I'm going to buy some and immediately make molds and resin duplicates so I can make cosplay and such...
But the angst... There's a popular forum on them that I'm trying to join because I can buy discounted/very cheap parts and sets on it. Plus, it has all the help for customizing. So I really don't want to buy from HobbyLinkJapan until I see if I can get a better deal from PSforums. Secondly, two of the ones I'm going to order are on back order until the end of the month. And since it's shipped the slow way from Japan.... even if I order today, I probably will get them mid January at the earliest. V______V Watch me cry. Lol.
The good news is that I'm really handy. I own lots of sculpey and jewelry making stuff, and I'm good at sewing and making small furniture. That means I can have fun building props and selling stuff on the site. They pay in cash and in parts.... I want to enjoy making things in exchange for parts... Free parts.... I swear, I'm not drooling.
Anyway, a better explination of them-
It's a joint project between fashion designers, artists, and specific anime companies. And there's 22 of them, I think, but there are repaints to every set and garage sets and cosplay sets and character sets. And Haruhi comes out next summer, yay!
I'm ordering 10, 12, and 14, I hope. I'm looking forward to eventually trying for 1 and 3. They yukatas are cute, but I don't know for sure if I want one. And Tohru is adorable if I can ever find her at a decent price.
Pictures (so you know what the heck I'm talking about):
http://www.pinky-street.com/index.php?page=all_releases I totally want to make a custom Ryn from old sketches and a custom Ragnarok character of some sort. Looks like a lot of fun to make them. Putty and silicon and resin... XDDDD
Artsy fartsy Sarah is really excited, but wishes they were here today. Or that they sold them somewhere local so she wouldn't have to fork out so much for shipping. I'd pay a little more if they were at least local....
**siiiiiiigh**
SO CUTE!
