So there's a contest that's coming up that asks photographers to submit their dream assignment. The winner wins $50,000 and a stash of other goodies to make the dream assignment happen.
Though I'm sure I have no chance of winning this (I never win things), I have an idea.
My idea is to document the work of evolutionary biologists - to accompany them out in the field, in the lab, at conferences. The idea is to use these photographs to perform outreach to the rest of the world about evolution, biology, scientists, women in science, all the things about my field that I think are really cool and that other people don't realize, understand, think about, etc.
I think this dream assignment has some merit because there would be the obligatory photos from exotic locations, coupled with a controversial topic, and would bring both of my main interests together. Also, if I got the money, I have all the necessary connections to make this actually happen.
What do you think? What would be your dream assignment?
