I went to see Rent today and, let me say, I hated it. In fact, I hated it so much that I left midway through it. And it wasn't only me. Xaiver, who I went with, felt the exact same way.

It's not that I didn't want to like it. Everyone had told me it was so great so I thought I was gonna have to like it. But they changed it to much for me to like it.

For example, they cut out all of the rhythmic singsongy speaking and just spoke the words. I would have been fine with that, if they would have changed the words. Instead everyone is rhyming and I cant help but to get annoyed.

Then they changed around the order of the musical numbers. That wasnt too bad but they also changed the settings. A lot. Out Tonight shouldn't have started at the Cat Scratch Club. In fact, I don't think they should have ever shown the Cat Scratch Club. And adding a dream sequence to Tango: Maureen? Come on.

Also, the cast, for the most part, sucked. I liked a few people, namely Collins, but the cast just wasnt as good as they used to be. Adam Pascal sounds like he's whining all the words in a voice that makes you want to cover your ears. Idena Menzel is way to campy of an actress to be in movies.

It just a bunch of things that kept building and building until I couldn't take it anymore culminating when Xavier and I left to go to Barnes and Noble, where I saw a CD where Peter Frampton and The Bee Gees sing Beatles tunes. I'll leave it at that.

Time to finish ID's.
