Update
It has been two and a half weeks. Everything is healed enough that the stitches fell out and I'm not too worried about being able to fuck it up at this point. One of my nipples had a frightening scab on it but it's come off and is now healing really well. Freakin Awesome!
Althea and I have been putting together the apartment, making it ours. First this involved deep scrubbing anywhere my old housemate had been to remove the massive amounts of hair left behind, it's rather disgusting (eg she stayed in the same room for a year and never vacuumed, after two days of CLEANING that room there is still hair woven into the carpet. Gross right?) But we're making progress and feeling good about it.
On a more depressing note Athena has been sickly. Less energy, panting, not eating or drinking much, and she can't open her eyes all the way anymore. I don't know much about chinchilla illnesses but it's not looking good. We're keeping an eye on her and doing what we can... If you know anything usefull please tell.
