I would write my entries with more flare, but having to think about writing throughout most of my day at work, I really can't be assed anymore.
A quick catch-up with the help of trusty...what else? Heart-shaped point form:
♥ At the end of December last year, my internship at Fluid ended.
♥ I spent NYE in Sydney with some of my favourite people in the world.
♥ Came home and very idly looked for a job and read for two weeks, by which point my mum was giving me shit and ordering me to find work. Well, fair enough :P
♥ Interviewed at
HK Magazine♥ Landed an internship at
Time Out Hong Kong instead.
♥ My editorial internship at Time Out is ending, and I'm staying on an extra month to help the marketing team organise and hold the yearly
Time Out Wine Walk♥ Would like to stay on at Time Out for longer, but that's not hashed out yet.
♥ This Saturday just past was Big Night Out (yes, I know it's ripping off of Big Day Out. Don't look at me, I didn't come up with the name. An Aussie and a Kiwi did.) and further details about the night is just below.
♥ Just had a Mexican smoked salmon wrap for dinner. There wasn't anything Mexican about it, but it was quite nice.
Big Night Out was great fun. Started at 4:30, ended at 12:30. Ten local bands, $30 drinks all night. I was supposed to work the doors from 4:30 - 6:30, but having the power over the stamp was too much fun and I ended up staying at the door for most of the night. Had fun just chatting with people and letting my OCD side come out. (The tickets, goodie bags and money were all very organised while I was around...) At the end of the night, I even counted all the money and organised it all into $1000 stacks. The next day, at my feature editor's farewell party, he told me that "I was trying to count the money at the end of the night, and I had two thoughts: I'm drunk! Why am I doing this now?! And, who is this OCD freak?"
Towards the end of the night, my friends Mark, Mark, Kyle and Anya who are all tied to Lingnan some way or another, and Anya's friend came to Big Night Out. That was lovely. I returned to the door only when I was needed then :P and spent some well-earned time drinking and enjoying myself with my friends. Turns out, Anya and Kyle both knew people I'm working with! Small world.
After the performances were all over, I stuck around for a little bit, then went for a late night kebab with Mark and Mark. Good times :D
Mmm...I think that's it. I'm going to go burp salmon-y breath at the cats now. Night!
