so it appears that i'm no longer allowed to watch television because it's too stupid and my standards are too high.
>> tried to watch "24" . but when it turns out that the guy (not the hero) is all stupid and gets out of the car when a policeman pulls him over, and then does it again even after he's gotten back in the car, i got really annoyed.
i don't want to watch shows about stupid people.
>> later in the same episode, this janitor guy almost gets shot. this occurs on the ground floor. the police-lady tells him "stay put!" and he says "okay!" ... after a few minutes of chasing, the police-lady and the bad guy are up on the roof -- THE ROOF -- and the police-lady sees the bad guy and tackles him ... BUT WAIT! he's actually the janitor, who almost got shot and agreed to stay on the ground floor, but instead has climbed to the roof ... FOR WHAT REASON?
in 1997, i would have said "it's just a plot element."
and i'd be right. it's a plot element to further the story the way the creator wants it to be. but i think it's stupid.
STUPID.
i probably think that stupid shows are for stupid people, and that's why i get mad when i watch them.
furthermore! let's not even get started on news anchors.
so i'll go ahead and hibernate in my cave again. wake me up when the media and entertainment industry raises the bar.
my new band: rage against the lowest common denominator.
rrrr.
