I'm still baffled, frustrated, disgusted, discouraged, irate, despondent and a list I can't even bear to type over how the focus ever changed to begin with. If something works and it's simple, then let it follow its natural course.

Not only was the show instant magic with such talented and committed actors, but the characters were so engaging and the dynamics were fascinating. I don't watch TV, but I was an instant addict. It was Ben as Ryan that reeled me in in a heartbeat and the people in his immediate, familial orbit(s) from both worlds that clinched the deal. Anyone else was secondary and should have only provided the necessary support and background to fuel the interaction.

I have nothing against Taylor, but she is one-dimensional and that singular side of herself is used effectively in small, well-placed doses. I simply don't want to be forced to "learn" about someone else. I'm already invested and I've been waiting for two years for the payoff.

I just want consistent writing with real continuity that addresses the past and brings it to the present with a sense of cohesion and true characterization. I know katwoman posted a list of episodes with the writers who were credited with each and it helps to see the patterns develop. Just glancing through, I'm reminded of which writers really don't have a feel for certain core characters and then shift the focus elsewhere. Bottom line? No one seemed to be minding the store.
