I get to do a 30 spot for a concert, fictitous or real. I think i'm going to do the promo for the fab 4's final concert and make it present day, with the assumption that George and John were still kickin'
I was riding my bike back to the house and i was listening to the beginning of Abbey Road and i have to say that Oh Darling! is a great damn song. When Paul just lets loose and screams and stuff and strains his voice you just ride it. Also, some of the drum transitions from verse to chorus are fricking crazy, i mean if you listen to the beats that ringo hits the tom-toms is fricking crazy, I don't care what anyone says, but i think ringo was one of the best drummers of all time. He's always in the pocket and has some really good transitions and it's hard to say that he didn't affect everyone else who came after him. John Bohnam pretty much takes first too, i mean he can go nuts and chad sexton, but i mean ultimately i got more love for the starkey.
I'm trying to think about which songs to include on this thirty second spot for a concert promo. I definitely want:
Come Together
Golden Slumbers
Help! (maybe) (Possibly: Boys)
Probably Hey Jude or Let it Be
Yesterday
and i need one more to totally blow them out of the water. I guess i should showcase all of their own songs too. So yesteday being paul, octopus' garden for ringo, Something or While My Guitar Gently Wheeps for george, and come together for John. I'm pretty sure paul co-wrote that one, but John is feautred on the lyrics. Hm, interesting. But i'm getting ahead of myself, for there's only 30 seconds allowed.
I'm also consdering doing led zeppelin, but i have more beatles to work with.
Any suggestions?
