i'm in malaprop's right now. some awesome homeless man ran out of the store yelling free-verse. i wake up 5 or 6 times a night from people all around me. it's always either late-night dudes burning rice right outside of my window, party people coming out of the gay and latino night clubs across the street, or homeless men at the halfway-home throwing wheel chairs at each other.
this afternoon i'm going to play kickball with some guy i met at the acrc and it will be awesome because the weather here is always perfect. this evening, i'm going to have band practice in the women's bathroom of an enormous warehouse that my roommate used to live in. there's always something going on. it's nice because it's a healthy distraction from the disaster of a relationship i'm in.
living in asheville and living in my apartment has been an insane experience. i live in probably the poorest area in downtown, and i love it. my apartment doesnt have screens on the windows, and so late at night i sit in the second-story window of the combination kitchen/living room/laundry room with my feet sticking out, drunkenly daring gravity. people consistently come to the parking lot outside of the kitchen to fuck in their cars or sleep on the pavement. the homeless population here is so quirky. there is a black guy with a long, white wig, who i call "black gandalf." there were the two guys who came over and drank 40s with me while playing trivial pursuit. there is the schizophrenic woman, "martha," who threw rocks at sam and yells at dogs because at least dogs get to be indoors every once in a while. several homeless people own dogs here. it's really strange.
anyways, i guess i wanted to update and talk about life in general, instead of about individual things that happen to me.
p.s. the answer to the math problem was 28. 6 times 7 divided by 1.5.
