I have some of the best friends in the WORLD!
Resigned to spending my 18th birthday home and alone watching movies and eating popcorn, I started Cast Away with Tom Hanks and turned it off, set on resuming it once I got out of the shower. I take my first shower since my surgery and it goes all right. Everything is clean and I'm dressed and ready to start burning some CDs and getting back to Cast Away. I am getting my sister's CDs out of her room to start burning when the doorbell rings. I walk to the banister and see Tammy's strawberry blondish head through the window next to the door. All I could think is, "Oh God, I'm in my pajamas!" Hehe. So I start walking down the stairs and all my friends yell, "Happy Birthday!" Devin, Ryan Beaulac, Tammy, Deborah, Steven, Becca, Hannah, and Mariel all waltzed in the door with a cake, a pie, and presents, ready to celebrate my 18th birthday. I don't think I have ever had a surprise party in my life, and let me just say that I have the best friends in the world. Kelee and Dylan joined the party about an hour or so later.
We ate cake and pie and talked for a while and then made our way downstairs. I opened my presents and we watched the tape of the YT showcase and a few episodes of Friends. It was so wonderful to have a night with some of my closest friends and to actually have an 18th birthday party. This has been the best birthday ever! And to think I had planned to eat popcorn and watch movies alone while groaning over the pain of the surgery.
All of the presents were so cute and funny and creative too! Plus, more Friends episodes! WOO!!! Although it is terrible to watch them now because I really can't laugh. Well I can of course. But it hurts like hell.
Thank you to everybody who planned and attended my little surprise birthday party today. I had the time of my life and it has been such a special night with all of you. And thank you all for your presents also. You should not have gotten me anything! I appreciate you all so much and I'll miss you guys!
Gotta get that gala idea up and running! We'll plan it! It'll be fun!
