last weeks concerts
kaiser chiefs / weezer / foo fighters -
tuesday night before the show, i met up with a few friends at a pub in mission valley for some pre-concert festivities. after a couple drinks we headed to sdsu for the show. we ended up missing the kaiser chiefs, but weezer was great! the band sang a bunch of old stuff and some of the new (my favorite, "perfect situation"). they even did a cover of foo fighters' "big me". they were very entertaining and at the end of the show, the majority of the band were playing the drums on the same kit at the same time. they were a lot of fun to watch! foo fighters were great as well, although i was a bit disappointed at the number of songs they played off their new CDs. considering the double CD has around 20 songs on it, the 4 or so songs they played just weren't enough for me. they played the majority of their radio hits and a cover of a CCR song as well.

former lead singer of the soul coughing, mike doughty, visited san diego last wednesday night at the belly up. a friend of mine from san jose flew into town on wednesday and went to this show with me. i haven't seen him since april, so it was fun to drink a couple beers and catch up while listening to some good music. good stuff! ;D
