I'd like to get some bamboo for the yard, but all of the bamboo I've found, that I like and that likes the semi-shady environment that is the back yard, all run.
I don't want to be perpetually hacking back bamboo.
I've thought about getting a large container to put it in, but large pots are expensive, even at places like 1/2 price pots. Plus they're super heavy.
This weekend I saw that McLendons in Woodinville had wine barrel bottoms for sale. Those are quite large, and not too expensive. I imagine they'll be fairly heavy still, but that's ok.
I picked up two yesterday and they are in the back of my car smelling it up like wine. I don't suspect they'll be unloaded until this coming weekend, so they'll be in there taking up the entire back of my car for the rest of this week.
Now I need to figure a way that lets water drain without letting the bamboo escape...
The more I go to McLendons the more I like it over Home Depot, or Lowes. The employees actually know what they're talking about, so you can actually ask them questions about your project and get more than a slack-jawed shrug of the shoulders.
