So..a friend and I were playing around with the pitch generator, from the TV Tropes Wiki, which is located here:
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pitchgenerator.php What it does, essentially, is randomly give you two TV shows. The funny part is when you actually think of what these shows or concepts or books, etc, would be like, when combined..So..I'm not even

The Da Vinci Code meets Real Life - XD XD XD.
Neon Genesis Evangelion meets Pixar. . .well, there is Puchi Eva, I guess.

Really? I know..almost nothing about Kurau Phantom Memory other than what you've said about it. I need to check it out at some point..

Well, what I've seen of Kurau and Koi Kaze indicates that they are both very quiet, subdued shows that deal with Big Problems in little ways, and they both have a focus on family. . .though, of course, in completely different ways.

^^; I think you just pretty much sold me on both shows. *goes to edit Queue*

Speaking of which, I should try to watch the second disc tonight. . . .
Incidentally, whenever I visit your journal I always get ads for horror movies. It's really strange. O_o

I'm really looking forward to your thoughts on Nia Gurren Lagann. I really liked the show a lot - I liked it so much I bought the soundtrack just so I could listen to a particular piece of the score over and over again, and the ending is really amazing, and the characters are really awesome, and the plot is really neat, aaaaaaand. . . .
Incidentally, the score is written by Taku Iwasaki, who also wrote the soundtrack for R.O.D. -the TV- and Witch Hunter Robin, by the way. :-)

Incidentally, I know very little about it. I know of four characters, three of which have blue hair, two spoilers(which I will block out of my brain when I see the show), and that the plot includes giant robots, underground people and..something called Beastmen. Also..something about everybody hating episode 4 and the last five minutes of episode 26.
Really? Really? ^_^ Awesome. I look forward to this even more, now/

You may not like it, as it's got an odd style and is deliberately crazy, sort of like a saner FLCL. The score is really wacky and features a rap opera hybrid piece, which is sort of the show in a nutshell. Rap and opera do not mix, except they kind of do. It's the weirdest thing. You've got to be willing to take the show very seriously while not taking it too seriously. It's strange.
I'm not entirely sure what's up with the last five minutes of 26 hate, as I can only imagine their problem is with something that. . .made the show really good. ^^; It's not the first time I've heard that, though. And episode four had a special guest directing the animation, so it is super-stylized and if you haven't seen said guy's style before. . .well, it's pretty weird.
Three characters with blue hair? I can only think of one. Kamina. . . ?

I'm pretty sure that I can do that, and have done that with quite a few shows. I think maybe I can take deliberate craziness and insanity. Well, we'll see after seven more episodes of Evangelion..
Don't Simon and Nia(sort of..it's also half blond, I guess?) have blue hair..?
Also, how on earth do I pronounce Simon's name? I was told i have to pronounce it She-Mohn and to NEVER EVER EVER pronounce it like it's spelled.

Hoo boy, Simon's name. This is fun.
Technically it's SEE-mohn. This is the official English pronunciation and I think it's the Greek pronunciation of the name.
In the Japanese track, they say with a sort of "sh" sound, but it's not actually supposed to be there as far as I know and it comes and goes (on the image song album Kamina and Simon sing a duet, and if I recall correctly the "sh" sound is totally gone - no, I do not own this album, really, I don't own it, okay, maybe I do).
But in all honesty? I just say "Simon." ^^;
I think mimicking the way the name Simon comes out in Japanese is just kind of silly; it's like saying Fullmetal Alchemist is about Edowardo Elricku and his brother, Aruphonsu. They did it in the dub, but unless GAINAX or somebody else has said they wanted the Greek version specifically, I will stick with Simon.

Ugh, I hate that. I'm not even a Death Note fan, nor have I seen the show, but a part of my soul dies every time I hear 'Raito Yagami.' I'm not particularly fond of being calling Fakir 'Fakia' either, but that seems to have ended.
^^; Okay, I'll stick to Simon, as well, as I don't think I could train myself to do otherwise. Not that I should complain, since my first name is basically a Finnish name, mis-pronounced..

Didn't "Raito" come into being because people decided "Light" was way too improbable a name? XD And. . .yeah, Fakia and Mute. Mute in particular cracks me up because of the "your name is the Greek word for story" line - Mute is the Greek word for story? Who knew?
Reply
It did? ^^;; I didn't know that. I also didn't know about 'Mute,' but that makes me laugh very hard. Somehow, the idea of the words 'mute' and 'story' being connected is really poetic, though, even if it's totally untrue.

. . . .including me.
I have a friend who does that with spoilers and it drives me crazy. ^^; And Gurren Lagann fans are the worst about spoilers, which is irritating because a lot of what happens in the show can be pretty shocking.
