David came to visit a couple of days ago and we spent yesterday afternoon hitting a few of the wineries we'd neglected on his last tour through Temecula wine country. We had come to the second of the four we visited, a place called Wilson Creek, which was, overall, pretty heinous, and we were about halfway through swill-tasting when I, very luckily, eavesdropped on the conversation going on between the couple next to me. The man was going on and on about something, I couldn't hear what, but then, as though making a point, finished with this.
"Okayokayokay, which do you think is harder to poke in the eye, a shark or a lion?"
I only kind-of wished that I heard the rest of what he was saying, but getting that quote out of context seems to me a gem unto itself. I should eavesdrop more.

In other news, things are looking up, opportunities are presenting themselves, and I may actually be really busy in 2008. Exciting!
Oh, and I've seen "Juno" twice now. It needs to be in J.K. Simmons' contract that he must say the word "wiener" at least once in every film he does. He was brilliant, I say.
