Another adventurous weekend is in the books and yeah, it was crazy.
Friday: I made my way to Fergus Falls to get some alterations done on my new wrestling gear that was to be debuted the following night. Also, I attended my girlfriend's choir concert and it was pretty good. Kept my mind off the weekend to come and that's just what I needed.
Saturday: Darin and I made our way to the MPW Arena for the monthly Saturday show. After a long wait the night of my first tables, ladders and chairs match was here and I was nervous. After a 10 month rivalry with The New Generation, it was time to end it all. TLC for the MPW Tag Team Titles. This match was intense and we all beat the crap out of eachother. Two ladders, five tables, eleven chairs and four nearly broken bodies later it was all said and done. Unfortunately for Darin and myself we did not come out on top. The New Generation beat us but it was definitely one hell of a spectacle. After the match it was to applebees for some very much needed grub because I had hardly eaten a thing all day. Then back to the hotel for much a much needed shower and sleep.
Sunday: Up and at'em around 10:30am and off for breakfast. Perkins was the place of choice and then it was to MPW to meet up with Arik Cannon and the Chikara crew and we made our way to the Mall Of America. I didn't buy anything because let's face it, I'm uber poor. But good times were had and that's all that matters. From putting on silly hats and taking pictures, to referee Bryce Remsberg explaining some obvious things to strangers to Mike Quackenbush saying that since he'd been at the mall for an hour and a half and therefore it was his mall, it was a very good time. From the mall it was back to MPW for the sunday night gig. I was sore and tired but I had another match on this evening and it was a great opportunity for me. I would be part of Team MPW with "The Anarchist" Arik Cannon and Kid Krazy to take on Team Chikara which consisted of "Double C" Claudio Castagnoli, Chris Hero and "Lightning" Mike Quackenbush. This match was to break the tie for the World Series of Wrestling that had taken place during the saturday show between Chikara and MPW. The match was pretty intense and the longest match I've ever been a part of, lasting just over fifty minutes. In the end it saw Chris Hero hitting Arik Cannon with the "Hero's Welcome" for the pinfall victory making Team Chikara the World Series of Wrestling winners. After the match I received some very good advice, advice that I definitely appreciated. After a the goodbyes were made it was off to Bigg Mack's for a pay-per-view, free food, and good times. I had me some fun and then it was back to the homestead for more much needed rest. What a weekend, I had so much fun and I learned so much. Special thanks go out to the Chikara Crew for making the long journey and I can't wait for ya'll to come back. Until next time, I'm gonna go move around slowly...
Arik Cannon: "Did you flip any levers or switches?"
Chris Hero: "Like what do you mean?"
Arik Cannon: "Like my car hood lever?"
Chris Hero: "Oh yeah, I definitely got that."
