Talking about nothing.

Not that any of you would be particularly interested in what I've been up to lately, but I was asked about "Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles" today and figured I'd mention that, at very least.

I didn't catch tonight's episode, but so far it's been no different than last season in that, while some of the over-arcing plots are decent, it pretty much blows donkey cock. The scripts are shoddy, the logic is bad, plot holes abound, it conflicts basically all the rules set up by the movies on which it's based... It's a fucking mess. I'll be surprised if it makes it much farther, which is kind of sad because it has a good cast and should work, but the characters are all fucking unlikable except for Cameron and she's a robot. Lena Heady is a good actress, but this Sarah Conner is the character in name alone and is an unstable fucktard who exists only to whine about her life and her son and make awful decisions that put them in peril. That son, John Conner, is a mega-tool emo kid, who fortunately finally cut off his emo hair a couple of weeks ago, but that doesn't make the show any better.

The writing is pretty much all-around awful and it's an affront to your brain to watch. But it filled the time until "Chuck" and "Heroes" started again.

"Heroes", for the record, is pretty interesting so far, though Cheria didn't like the new, dark take on it. But it was time for some villainy (as opposed to mystery) and it's nice to see things taking more of an adversarial tone. Could be a few months of interesting television.

Since last Wednesday night, I've been watching "Lost". I'd never really watched it before last Monday, when Sci-Fi showed the pilot and I caught it. Though I'd seen an episode or two in the past (around second season) and didn't like it, I figured there was a lot of it and it'd give me something to do.

Now I'm only a few episodes away from being done with all 4 seasons, which I believe means that I've watched 76 episodes over 5 or 6 days. That means I'll be fully caught up in time to be annoyed with the last two seasons.

For the record on this one, the first season is interesting and decent, season two is less decent and interesting but still workable, the third season is somewhat annoying and tedious and piles too much shit on you too fast, and the fourth season is more of the same, but making you dislike those few remaining characters you didn't hate. For those who like watching deeply flawed individuals do things, they may find the show to be a delight, but I hate watching things when no one turns out to be particularly smart or can't ever seem to make a reasonable decision. But I started it, so I'm going to finish it.

crap, tv
