Worst camping trip EVER!!!
I got back last night from the most horrible camping trip I've ever been on!!
First, we (me, my sister Becca, my brother Austin, and my niece Karissa) went to the beach, which was really awesome! The water was so warm. However, I didn't put sunblock on and got burnt to a crisp :(
After the beach, we decided to stay in a cheap camping area. Unfortunately, we were extremely unprepared. We had no tent, and no wood for the fire (we had to gather a bunch of partially damp wood and even borrow a couple dry pieces from another camper). My sister and I tried for over an hour to start the fire, but it wouldn't happen! Since we couldn't cook anything, we had to eat cereal for dinner. After that, we went to sleep. Since we had no tent, Becca and Karissa slept in the front seats of Becca's truck while Austin and I slept in the back, completely outside and exposed to the mosquitos flying around.
We finally had enough! After two hours of trying to tolerate the heat (it was about 80 degrees at midnight!), Becca and I decided to pack everything up and drive back home, which was a 2 1/2 hour drive. When we got to the main entrance of the camping area, the goddamn gate was locked. Luckily, we were able to zigzag around the gate. We left around 2am and got back at 5:30am!!!
