For all the techies that still read this...

I am in the market for same backup hard drive space for all my media. I have probably 150 gigs worth (this includes a healthy 'fudge' margin).

I have been looking at my options and they seem to be:

1) Extenal hard drive. If I go this route it will be probably USB connectable. Of course then it will be yet another box in my computer area and I will have to make sure the plug will have a space in my overcrowded surge protector. Found a good possibility here.

2) Wireless NAS. The cool factor goes way up as it is wireless and I can store it anywhere in my apartment. Found a storage router that has 160GB replacable drive in it that I can just add on to my network here. Down side it is wireless, so backups will be slow unless I want to then upgrade my whole network from 802.11B to 802.11G or even possibly N.

3) Make a barebones backup/media center computer from a shuttle case. More customizable, but since I have my computer now hooked up to a 5.1 surround setup and to my TV I have no real need for a media center pc.

Anyone have any thoughts on any of these options? Anyone tried anything that was either good or bad that I should know about?
