Story Time

This is rather long for me, but it needs to be told.

Gather round kiddies,

Uncle Ryan has a story to tell. Our story begins over a year ago. Our story revolves mainly around two characters. We will refer to them as Kathy and Jamie. At one point Kathy and Jaime were the best of friends. They did a lot together. Jamie was never the nicest person, but Kathy still liked him. Anyway, both friends played a role-playing game call Vampire the Masquerade. One year, they both went to a game very far from their home game. Jamie was the Prince of the local game, so thought he was hot snot. (He he, I said snot.) Kathy on the other hand had been promoted to Archon. Archon is a much more Global position than the local one as Prince. Now, when both parties met at the event Kathy was very busy doing Archon type things, and did not have time to speak with Jamie. Jamie took this as a huge snub and became very anti-Kathy in game.

Now hear is where it gets good, but first a little back-story. Jamie’s character was never liked by anyone. He was always yelling at someone and then when someone barked back he would hide behind Kathy’s character, which was much bigger. This continued for a very long time. It got so bad that at least one other character would ask for permission to kill his at least once a month.

But enough of that and back to the story. When Jamie returned home from the event he had a very bitter taste in his mouth. He was so bitter that he then decided to bad mouth Kathy’s Character to a local Toreador. Now any moron can tell you that most characters are very loyal to their clan. In this instance, Kathy’s character was also a Toreador. Being a typical character, this local Toreador told Kathy’s character what he had said. So, Kathy’s character did what vampires do best. Told 2 friends. Well, you know how the story goes. They tell two friends, and so on and so on.

This next part, truth be told, is my favorite. Jamie’s Character took what has to be the record for the fastest downward spiral. In a month time, he went from being Prince of a Domain, to faking his death (horribly might I add), to having blanket right of destruction placed on his character.

Now we get to the dreaded “G” word. Genre. Now, I have not read a lot of the tremere clan book, but my common sense would tell me that the Tremere clan would not like to have a member of their clan in a area where he was “Kill on Sight”. However, because Jamie was such a pain in the ass to deal with the ST staff did not want to ‘Transfer” him to a different house. So he was allowed to continue playing.

For the next few months Jamie would show up at game with about two hours left to play. He would then run side scenes with specific ST for about an hour and then go into game in Astral for about thirty minutes then leave game early. This continued for quite a while until someone spotted him in Astral. Then he would only show up once every three months to stay off the shelf, then go back home and bad mouth Kathy via the Internet. I know what you are thinking, “Man, this guy is the most courageous guy I have ever seen. I mean showing up once every three months and risking his character! This man must be an Angel sent from Heaven”

Ok, stick with me we are almost to the end. Now Jamie is not the stealthiest of individuals. He was now bad mouthing Kathy and her character. Saying that Kathy was a cheater, and a metagamer. Now, I am no rocket scientist, but I don’t see anything of the sorts. He started the In Character strife. Also, she did not take his Praxis, or give right of destruction on his character. That was all done by other player characters. However, Jamie blamed the whole shebang on Kathy.

So the above process continues for just under a year. Finally, the ST’s of the local game allow repercussions to happen to Jamie’s Character. Four players jump onto it. The end results in Jamie’s character being killed. Kind of said it took as long as it did to get him dead.

So this is where the story ends, right? WRONG!!!! Jamie continues to bad mouth Kathy over the Internet. See this is my theory as to why he is doing this. Jamie for the most part lost all friends related to this game in this area because we all saw the story unfold. However, people that weren’t around have fresh untouched minds. This allows a blank canvas for Jamie to tell his story. He can manipulate and leave out any information he chooses. “Oh you poor victim, I can’t believe she would do this to you. How could she?” The truth is she didn’t. She didn’t walk away, he did. She tried to make it work, but he was too attached to a make-believe person that he got the “Real World” and this “Game World” confused.

In conclusion, my mother taught me that if I didn’t like someone to just leave them alone. You don’t have to like them, just leave them be. So I leave Jamie with this advise, leave it alone. She has let it be I suggest you do the same. The only reason I am writing this is to give the truth to everyone that you have manipulated. It is over, let it go. Be done with it. Go about your life, she has.

Th Th Th Th, That’s all Folks,

Uncle Ryan

P.s. She didn’t kill your P.C., I did.

P.p.s. I lied earlier; killing your Character was my favorite part.
