The Commonplace Writing Group has a few recommendations on how to introduce yourself to the community. One is to write an "I am from" poem, and they list a few example. The second is to write a haiku about yourself. And the third is to write a few sentences about your favorite text. Here are the first two bits of that. I have to figure out what my favorite text is yet.
The “I am from” Introduction Poem
I am from the world,
And yet I sit alone.
I am from the north,
I rest here in the south.
I have yet to find the place
Where I shall truly be.
I am from Christine,
Her union with Don F.
I am from the four,
The second to be born.
I have yet to find a man
To share a life with me.
I am from my mind,
Where Oma sits in court.
Pixie skips with joy
While I rule over all.
I have yet to find the door
That sets the Dragon free.
I am from the Lord,
The sacrifice he made
Set the captives free,
The Savior of the world.
I have yet to find a way
To share this jubilee.
I am from beyond
This poem can express.
I cannot be pinned
For you to truly see.
You can never find Kylene
If this is all you see.
Haiku about myself
Silence clings to me;
My laughter slips beneath. Sing!
Bless me; I have sinned.
