Mechanical dreams and my plans for the weekend

I've been having strange sleep the last couple days.  It's kind of hard to explain it.  But this morning, it felt like my brain was talking really loudly when I was snoozing through my alarms.  The alarm rang, I woke up and picked it up to hit the snooze, and it seemed like my head was filled with noise, both talking and the sound of machinery.  I feel back asleep for the five minutes my alarm gives me, and when the thing rang again, it was the same way.  Clamoring noise inside, annoying beeping noise outside.

I can't decide if the noise was better or worse than the dreams about metal and robots the night before, or something like that--I can't really remember any more.

Anyway.

I'm sitting in a nearly empty office this morning.  There's a company-wide announcement happening this morning.  We all know what it is.  But they're apparently making a big production about the whole thing, with fog machines and everything.  It's kind of a big deal for the company.  And huge crowds of people are going to this thing.  The notification said that there would be seating only for the first 2,500 people who show up.  That's about 2,450 people more than I'm comfortable sharing a room with.  And those are only the people sitting down--more than that will be standing around the edges.  So I'm staying right here.  Where it's safe.  And I can get a lot of work done in the quiet.

And I honestly have been working.  I just finished up the newsletter for the committee I'm in.  And I've done scans and a couple other things.  See, I'm being very productive!

I've also been working on my list of what I'd like to accomplish tomorrow and over the rest of the weekend.  Justin and I found the paper for the programs last night, so he's going to finish those up and print them off tonight.  I'll bring them to work with me tomorrow and cut them apart.  After work, I need to head downtown to pick up the tags for my car (because for some reason they didn't have an apartment number so the envelope was returned to sender--how is it that they can send me a bill for the tags with my complete address, and yet not have that same address when they go to send me the item for which I was billed?).  On my way back, I'll stop at a photo place and ask if they can make a copy of a picture of Justin's dad, Kirk, for me.  I'll stop at Michael's and see if I can find some inexpensive ribbons for the programs.  I'll stop again at the florist, I think, and talk with her about how I don't want yellow flowers in my wedding and knock out all the rest of the details for that whole thing.  I'll stop at Target and pick up Tums and a candle to sit beside Kirk's picture and maybe some vases for the bouquets to rest in after the wedding.  I might also stop into the hair stylist's and set up an appointment for Justin to get a trim.

At Justin's place, then, I'll attach the ribbons to the programs and then figure out how they're going to be handled at the wedding.  I'll put the picture of Kirk in the frame.  And then I have to figure out how the programs and the picture/candle for Kirk are going to be displayed at the wedding.  I'll probably grab two more of the kitchen stools and put the stuff on those.  I wonder if I have more fabric that I could use to disguise them.  I'm all out of stools, then, because I'm using the third one for the unity candle.

After that, I'll drop a line to a girl who said she'd do my hair and makeup for $25 and see if she's still interested and available and find out when we can get together to give it a try.

Saturday, we'll head to Kroger to put in the order for the cakes and the sandwiches that we're going to have for the reception.  We'll get drinks, maybe, or we might wait another week or so on that one.  We'll stop at S&K and talk with them about suits.  We'll stop at the Gardens and make sure that things are set there.

Sometime during the weekend, I'll chat with the photographers and make sure that they're all set.  This will also include figuring out where people are getting ready the morning of the wedding because the photographers are going to be there to take pictures of all that.  Justin will work on the guestbook so we can get that finished up sometime soon.  I'll finish the thank you notes for my birthday.  Hopefully, we'll finalize where we're having the rehearsal dinner so I can get directions from the Gardens to the restaurant printed out for people.  I'll make up the list for Erica that has all the important phone numbers that she's going to need.  And, hopefully, Justin will fix the laptop so we can use that for the music at the wedding and reception.

And exercise.  I need to exercise at least a couple times this weekend because I'm in serious danger of not fitting into my dress very well.

And go to church.

And I'm sure that there are several other things I'll do that I'm completely forgetting about right now.

So, it's going to be an interesting weekend!  After this weekend, almost all of the big things will be taken care of.  My goal was to have almost everything accomplished before Erica got into town.  She and Tim fly in next Sunday.  I think I'll actually see her Tuesday afternoon.  I should be pretty much ready by then.

It's so great!  I'm almost done!!  :)
