There was frost on the ground this morning.  Quite a lot of it, actually.  It's not too surprising because, after all, it is November.  But I live in Savannah.  The average low for Savannah in November is 47 degrees F.  The average high is 71.  It's a very mild place to live, which is one of the reasons why I love it so much.  The average ( Read more... )

Okay, you guys. Here is the word from Wisconsin - northern Wisconsin actually. We had snow yesterday. Big fluffy flakes coming down when they had only predicted rain. I almost had to get out the snow shovel, but it warmed up enough that the sidewalks weren't too bad once it had stopped. But we got about an inch. But get this -- it was so bad up in Superior that they had to close schools. Hey, this is only November. What's with this? And as for the credit card - something I'd never actually thought of, by the way -- that probably wouldn't work the greatest if you came out and found about 3 inches of snow on your windshield. So we also have to have a brush on the other end of the scraper, although just grabbing the broom from the garage is usually a faster way of finding your car if it has to be parked outside during the winter. Ah, for the days of a garage I could actually put my car in...
Our average temperature is now hovering around the upper 30's during the days and the mid-20's at night. But we're getting used to it. In a few months, these temperatures will feel like spring has arrived.

This is why I love Savannah. :)

I must admit, though, I miss seeing the big, fluffy white flakes. They're just so pretty! But as long as I get to see a little bit when I'm up for Christmas, I think that'll be enough to last me for a year or so.

I'll try to order some for Christmas. I've been moderately successful in past years, but I'll give it a try.
