I'm sitting on Justin's porch, trying to get the muse to wake up and typing away at his laptop. He's asleep (Justin, not the muse) not far from me in the hammock that we hung last night. It was a Christmas gift from his mother--a beautiful big hammock. He lives in an apartment building. But we figured out a way to hang it from one of the posts on his porch to the rail on the opposite side, moving the table and chairs closer to the building, and so far it's working out okay. It's very comfortable.
It's a beautiful afternoon. I expected it to be really hot, but sitting in the shade, with this light breeze blowing, it's actually quite lovely.
I got off the phone with my mom a few minutes ago. I called when she wasn't home and she was returning my call to let me know that she appreciated my call, but that she's just too busy to talk. I'm not all that surprised--she's a busy lady and they're trying to sell a house. So I'm not bothered at all. It was a nice little hasty conversation.
In a few minutes I'm going to wake up Justin so he can call his mom. Until then, I'm enjoying sitting here with him resting nearby, the wind blowing the wisps of my hair that got out from the barrettes, listening to the fountain in the pond across the lawn.
It's such a strange day. We went to church this morning and then drove to the Wal-Mart near my work to pick up the pictures I accidentally had developed there instead of the one nearby (silly online system), stopped into Sam's Club to check it out, and then came back to Justin's place where I put my pictures into the frames I picked up while we were in the store and he poked around doing his own stuff on his computer. Dinner on the patio, and then he fell asleep and I set up the laptop.
We do have plans to get things done this afternoon. Writing is one of the things on my list. Justin will get stuff done later, I'm sure. There are still many hours left in the day.
Oop! He just moved a leg, I think I'd better to pester him to get up.
