Woke up around 8 to get ready for work, which was relatively uneventful, really all you can ask for at work, except Brent came in to print some stuff for Catherine and that was nice to see him.
Walking through campus in the rain to my creative writing teacher's office hours, she had told us how lonely her hours have been since no one shows up so I thought I'd drop by. It was nice to talk to her, bounce some ideas off. Turns out Sam was planning on visiting as well and towards the end of my meeting he poked his head in through the door. We three talked for a bit before I gave them some privacy, Sam told me I should visit him at the radio station later.
My first HUB Burrito of the school year. I don't care what you say I like them. So whatevs, guy. Took a short nap at my table for one, only to wake up around 1:15 with all these elementary school children sitting around me. They were on a field trip. I woke up and felt like I was being judged.
Walked over to Rainy Dawg, hung out with Sam til 3 when his show was over. We discussed a potential radio show, The Sunday Gossiple, which would be gospel music + celebrity gossip, each song prefaced with a scandalous story and how the scandalous people need some Jesus in them, and that we had JUST THE SONG for them. He took the bus home and I made my way downtown.
Got out on University, listening to some high school kids on the way there, I learned the street naming system of Seattle's downtown follows a pattern of two streets next to each other, both starting with the same letter: Pike/Pine, Union/University, etc. OMG MIND FREAK.
I deposited my paycheck then made my way to Elliott Bay Books, where i listened to Michael Chabon read from his new book and answer a few pretentious questions by pretentious middle aged fans. I met up with Kelsey C. who was late to arrive and had to sit in the back and we got our books signed by him. I asked him if anyone every shouted out "CHA-BOOOONE!" at one of his readings and he said yes, it happened once and it was funny. I promise I'll finish Kavalier and Clay.
Kelsey and I got pho afterwards downtown, pretty good food, really good talk. Everyone was arriving downtown for the show so we started walking down to The Gap to meet Nicole. When we walked by the SAM cafe, we saw Imri through the glass panels and I excitedly ran up to the window and banged on the glass to get his attention. One of the people he was serving was the only one to notice so I pointed to Imri and he told him I was there. HAHA Embarassing because probably everyone at the restaurant saw it, but WHATEVZ. We also passed by Andrew, Kevin, and Brie on in the middle of a crosswalk, and we just waved and kept going even though we were all meeting at 8 at the same place.
Met Nicole at the Gap, met a very cute guy there too, working the cash register. We talked while I walked around upstairs, "browsing," and I decided to buy some socks so I could talk to him. HAHA it was fun, mutual flirting, he showed me his socks. I should have tried to get his number but Nicole and Kelsey were hovering behind me and I felt silly. Will return soon and get it this time. He had pretty eyes, teehee.
The three of us walked over to The Moore to catch GRIZZLY BEAR! Sam, Nicole, Chase, Calla, Arabella, Kevin, Brie, Kelsey C, and I all sat together, Lorraine and Juan had to settle for balcony seats since they bought their tickets after we did. Beautiful show. The Morning Benders were cuties, Ed Droste has the most beautiful voice. They even performed He Hit Me, and I was glad (HAHA?).
We sang Knife walking back to the bus stop. I saw Lola after the show and the people were filing out, but we didn't get to talk. At the bus tunnel we found out that John and Mackenzie were also at the show, and Sam's friend Nate. At the U District, I had to be Sam's wingman at a party so the two of us split from the group, went to a party with a surprising amount of gay men mixed with girls and frat bros. Good party, saw some people I haven't seen for a while and we still remembered each other. Good times. We left to catch the 1:30 bus, too bad Sam didn't get more time with the girl though. Next time, guy.
Sam and I decided to get out at the QFC, walk the rest of the way home. Picked up some groceries: Milk, Bananas, Grape Tomatoes, Salsa, Chips. Ate and talked in the dining room. Good night.
