Wow...I'm actually a little shocked...@_@
Earlier this week, I applied and interviewed for Co-chair positions on the Drug Awareness Committee and the Children's Awareness Carnival Committee. I really needed to have a little bit of leadership stuff to add to my CV and resume, but I really applied because on the Drug Awareness Committee, you get to go around to schools and put on puppet shows to teach the kids all about drug awareness - super fun! And the second-year Co-chairs both seemed really nice too, which made me feel much more at ease.
So last Friday I got the call from the DAC that they wanted me for a Co-chair; I'm totally psyched about it, even though it means more work on my plate. Our first event comes up this Friday: the Pre-Pharm Fair, where all the Pre-pharmacy kids come over to our side of the campus and learn about all the different organizations that they can be a part of later on. It should be fun!
Also, I'm being overwhelmed by work a little. I guess I got used to having maybe one or two "important" (aka hard science) classes a semester, rounded out by the more enjoyable (and easier work for me!) liberal arts classes. Ah, I miss my History of Ancient Rome.
Piano is going alright, even if I'm not getting to practice quite as much as I was over the summer. But that was expected. I won't give up however - even if I have to cut back to only two lessons a month. I can't let myself fall into that pit of despair again - life without the arts isn't life.
My diet's been going well too - I've lost about ten pounds so far, and I hope to keep on losing!
