Zheng Cao Set To Lead "The Bonesetter's Daughter" Cast
As I predicted in this post, Zheng Cao is slated to be back on the San Francisco Opera stage, though I had no idea it would be so soon. She has landed the lead role in the world premiere of composer Stewart Wallace (Harvey Milk) and librettist Amy Tan's (The Joy Luck Club) operatic adaptation of her book, The Bonesetter's Daughter. I told you this mezzo, who amazed me as Suzuki in Madama Butterfly, is one to watch. I just bought my season tickets and can't wait to see her in this role!
