Wow...UAB Homecoming is here, it's safe to say, and it's amazing how involved it's grown to be. The longest standing tradition, the Guerney races, happened today. What this is, is a race where 4 people run as fast as they can basically carrying a medical stretcher. My school, the School of Engineering, modified the wheels and was disqualified! If not for that, they would have beat the PA school!
Yesterday I took part in the homecoming festivities as well, in which we were cheering on the SOE while decorations were being judged, and then later on that night, I sang Karaoke. But in-between that, I finished up 2 homework assignments, went to Aikido, and got kinda tanked at the Brunswick Bowling Alley, while bowling with Marissa's "DAMN" group, well tanked enough to do the "Soulja Boy" and win passes for 6 free games, anyway.
Monday was even more homecoming fun, as I went to the big Block Party after class and the band Standard Candle was rocking out, and I won a goofy looking stuffed lizard playing games at the Carnival thingy several UAB organizations maintained.
Well, it's been a fun week so far, but not the calm before the storm, because it's also a busy one, as amidst all this excitement I've also been struggling to finish 3 homework assignments...and next week a project is due and 2 Tests! I need to start using the "free" time to do preliminary work on my end-of-semester projects now, but it never seems like there's enough.
