Tutorial #2 : make some fun with the horror colors
This is my second tutorial . I’ve made some avatar and I discover a very cool way to design an avatar . I’ll give you that right now . Okay , here is my tut :
Our aim today is make this icon
turn into
:
1. Open your image , crop it . I’m using a scene taken from “ Disturbia “ movie to make .
2. Duplicate your base and set it to Screen 100% . Okay, come on next step .
3. Create a new layer and fill it with the color #954b4b (
) and then set it to Overlay 100%. Result :
4. Create a new layer and fill it with the color #a371b6 (
) and then set it to Soft Light 100% . Result :
5. Create a new layer and fill it with the color #5dacab (
) and then set it to Soft Light 100% too . Result :
6. Create a new layer and fill it with the color #037b82 (
) and then set it to Overlay 100% . Result :
7. Now it looks almost the same with our ending icon . We just need to make some fun . Okay, duplicate your base and drag it to the top , then set it to Lighten 100% . Result :
8. Create the last fill layer and floodfill with the color : #004166 (
) and set it to Soft Light . Result :
9. Yup , you’ve done it . Now you can add some text or brushes ( or both ^^ ) to make your base more wonderful. Here's mine :
Here is some samples :
You must remember : “ This is just a basis to it . Every image is different “
