Over the last few months Cindy and I have been discussing what to do with her Taurus as far as fixing it or trading it in for a more reliable car. Everytime we look at the numbers it just doesn't make sense because we were upside-down on the loan on the Taurus (meaning: we owe more than what it's worth trade-in). Given the engine problems we have, we know we won't be getting much for it and with a year left on the loan we've considered paying off the car and getting it fixed. Yet we still find ourselves wondering if we should even keep the car. We're at the point that we'd break even on the loan.
So this weekend we're seriously looking at getting a minivan. The idea is getting a 3 or 4 year old Chrysler/Dodge minivan. We've already found an '03 Chrysler Town and Country the meets our budget and needs. I've read some reviews online about these vans and they seem to last and have few problems. They worked out the bugs when they redesigned them in '01, however, I want to be sure that I'm getting something that we can use for long range trips and use to transport our own stuff when we need to.
So, anyone out there that may have or know somebody that has had a Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan or a Chrysler T&C have any comments or problems with it? Please let me know. Thanks!
