I'm a little sore this morning all over due to a pretty active weekend. But I got a lot of things done around the house and I finally gave my car some much needed attention with a wash and a wax. I'll need to get the oil changed since it rolled 72,000 miles.
Cindy had to work Saturday but she was in the mood for going to Cedar Point afterwards so we did. We took the little guy with us to break him into our normal schedule. While our trip to the Point seemed like how it was last year rather than what it was like before Cindy was pregnant we still had a great time walking around the park. From our eyes the park simply wasn't ready to open and we saw a lot of rides down through the evening. The coolest thing there though has to be the 25 cent cotton candy. I really hope management doesn't kill this idea because it won't bring in a ton of money, because I'll just walk in the park and spend money on something like that rather than $4 for a corndog (I kid you not).
Jacob did really well for his first trip to CP and he enjoyed the sights, lights, and sounds of the park. Cindy did manage to ride her first coaster in almost a year, and that was Iron Dragon. She felt a little odd riding by herself so we spent most of the time walking around the park. She did get a game in of DDR and she looks like she's getting much much better as she's dropping more of her baby weight. The DDR machines though need the volume turned up a bit as you can't really hear the beat of the song. Jacob loves watching the DDR machines because of all the lights, however, the sound overcame him and put him to sleep as soon as we entered the arcade.
We had planned on going to the park Sunday but I had slept in until 10:30 because we got home late the night before, on top of that it was my sister's 18th birthday. We were going to go to the park in the afternoon but decided that since the park was a mess Saturday and we were going to try to trade off riding rides we decided to wait another week. I did get to see
timberskara and
lumbergirl13 and they got to see Jacob briefly. Although I missed out on seeing
oldpanther and Jacob missed out on seeing his surrogate coaster grandmother, heh.
Sunday evening Cindy and I got on this kick about doing yardwork, I trimmed the hedges since they were growing pretty wildly by the sidewalks and by the pool. I also weed wacked everything else while Cindy mowed with Jacob hanging onto her. She has this carrier that she wears to hold Jacob at her chest but he's beginning to outgrow that one and by the time we do Holiday World I'm sure he'll be in a larger backpack carrier. The yard looks so much better now that we are cutting the grass at a shorter height. It almost looks like a putting green. Still, next year is going to be a mess when we pull out everything and place smaller bushes around the house.
Cindy and I are going to go to Cedar Point on a weekday in May and just ride with each other. We don't have much "Rob and Cindy" time so we'll have to get a sitter for the little guy, but I think its something that we could use. I'm still banking on my parents moving into their new house in early June, but we're supposed to be seeing a lot happening this week. My dad paid us the second half of May's rent, so he's finally realizing that they'll be here into June as well. I cannot wait to have this huge home to ourselves!
