Why the network needs to be designed properly in the first place -
http://www.mercurynews.com/breakingnews/ci_6628202The source of last weekend's system breakdown at Los Angeles International Airport has been traced to a malfunctioning network interface card on a single desktop computer, officials said.
U.S. Customs officials said Tuesday the card, which allows computers to connect to a local area network, experienced a partial failure at about 12:50 p.m. Saturday that had a domino effect with other computer network cards.
Okay, so I gotta ask. What was the engineer thinking? Or is somebody lying about this? A network card should not be able to cause such an outage. If the computer was causing serious issues, why weren't engineers able to locate the problem quickly? Shouldn't take that long.
