http://www.cc.org/content.cfm?id=344The U.S. Senate Commerce Committee should begin taking critical votes on the future on the Internet THIS TUESDAY. And we need your help RIGHT AWAY!
As we’ve mentioned in previous emails, under recently enacted federal regulations there is nothing to stop cable and phone companies from not allowing you to access speech that they oppose!
We need Congress to take action and re-apply what is known as “net neutrality”, which prevents Internet Service Providers from engaging in such discriminatory practices.
The Senate Commerce Committee is about to consider amendments to pending telecom legislation and we need conservatives everywhere to contact the Senators listed below and let them know that we favor “net neutrality”. Specifically, tell them that you favor the “SNOW/DORGAN” amendments.
They also give phone numbers, emails, and fax numbers for several committee members.· John McCain, (AZ) - Email: (

And, they've got more information on it on their site...
http://www.cc.org/netneutrality.cfmBut this is about to change. Last year the FCC voted to drop enforcement of "net neutrality"…and the cable and phone companies want this new position to become part of the new telecommunications bill.
Under the new rules, there is nothing to stop the cable and phone companies from not allowing consumers to have access to speech that they don't support. For examples, an ISP with a pro-choice board of directors could decide that it doesn't like a pro-life organization using its high speed network to encourage pro-life activities. Under the new rules, this could happen - and it would be legal.
If the principle of "net neutrality" dies, the losers will be consumers, businesses and those who use the Internet for political expression.
Huh. I think they get it. Now, when the Christian Coalition starts knocking on the doors of the Right Wing Conservative Senators and Congresscritters, maybe those politicos will listen. Net Neutrality has an enormous base of popular support. Gun owners, Christian Coalition, environmental groups, civil rights groups, all kinds of people - excepting the corporations in charge of telecommunications in this country.
So who will our Senators listen to?
