Quote for the Day:
"I'm a fat lesbian" - Jon
Who's Online: My AIM's acting up at the moment, so I don't know. But probably not too many, since most people are home for Spring Break.
There's actually an explanation for that quote, but I'm just gonna let you wonder. :-D
As usual when I go a while without an update, there's plenty to mention, so let's get right to it. I actually had an update ready the day before the Super Bowl, but I accidentally closed the window and didn't feel like recreating the stupid thing.
At the moment, I'm watching the Oscars, wondering if Scotty Barnhart is playing in the orchestra again, cause I know he has at times in the past. So far, "Brokeback Mountain" has lost once, for Best Supporting Actor, and here's hoping that streak continues.
I'm assuming you all know by know, but for those of you who don't, me and Christina broke up three weeks ago, and before you ask, yes, we're still friends and it's all good.
2 for 2. "Brokeback" just lost its second Oscar of the night, this time for Best Supporting Actress!
I really hate those Wendy's commercials where they try to rename the dollar. If I told a girl she looked like a million chicken nuggets, I'd probably get slapped.
Quick question. Why is it that when people post song lyrics as their away messages, they're always depressing? Why not post some happy, retarded, or just plain amusing lyrics every once in a while.
I actually heard a blind guy say the words, "I'll see you later," the other day.
My Grammy (paternal great-grandmother) died two weeks ago this morning, which ment I went up to South Carolina for the funeral. The whole crew was there. All 7 kids, 17 grand-kids, and most of the 27 grandkids. I forget how entertaining they can all be, at least in small doses. And while I was up there, I found another great sign: "Bee City Honeybee Farm and Petting Zoo." Think about it for a second... there it is.
Pimp - Sort of like an agent with a better hat
So yesterday was the West Florida Fine Arts Festival. We took 12 kids with a total of 8 entries, and came away with 6 Superiors and 2 Superior w/ Invitations. The two that got invites were Matt and Josh's Rap Group, which was more funny and a joke than anything, but it was actually pretty good, and Tim's Solo Drama. But the big thing that caught me off guard was the sheer lack of size, compared to Pen Fla. Not bad, just small. Very different.
Holy crap. Charlize Theron and Keira Knightley seem to get hotter all the time.
I saw a guy in the gym wearing a SPAM shirt. Isn't that kinda weird? I mean, I like spam, and I go to the gym, but those two things just don't seem to go together.
Who else thinks this new drama on NBC called "Conviction" is gonna suck? It's about a bunch of NYC Assistand District Attorneys, which is a premise with promise, but the problem is one of them is the chick from Law & Order: SVU. Oh, wait. I just realized it's supposed to be a spin off and she's playing the same character. Ok, in that case, it probably won't suck.
I miss Cawthon's super toilets. I actually had to buy a plunger a few weeks ago. In Cawthon, that never woulda been necessary. And another thing. When did they quit putting sports pages in the men's rooms of restaurants? Places like Chili's, Ruby Tuesday's and Bennigan's used to put those above the urinals to give you a something to read while you were doing your business, but now they don't do that anymore. Sad.
Haven't seen any movies in the theater lately, but I did see Saw II. Wow. Quite creepy. I was most amused by the fact that the ditzy chick from "Becker" and Lucy from "7th Heaven" were in it in very different roles. And the ending was priceless. Definitely a good movie, if you have the stomach for it, cause gore-wise, it was worse than the first one.
In sports, FSU's basketball team is probably gonna make the NCAA tournament after beating then-number-1 Duke here last Wednesday and today finishing off the regular season with a win at Miami. In pro basketball, the Heat have a firm hold on their division lead and the conference second seed as we are currently working on an 8-game winning streak.
In sports-related news, ESPN has-
Crap. "Brokeback" won one. The Argentinian guy who wrote the score won for Best Original Score. There goes the o-fer. Oh, well. At least it's not one of the big ones.
Anywho, ESPN named it's crew who will announce Monday Night Football next year. Mike Tirico, Joe Theismann, and Tony Korneiser will have the honor. I haven't watched enough of the first two to really make any judgements, although Bill Simmons doesn't really like them. But I do like the selection of Kornheiser.
There's a reality show about inventing things. I'm not even making that up. I only wish.
My other sports-related tidbit is really cool, at least to me. In the opening ceremonies of the recent Winter Olympics, they did this thing where all the people formed a big skier and they moved it around and stuff. But the cool part was that the background music during this was Maynard's "Gonna Fly Now." It was friggin' sweet.
Ok, I know you're waiting for the link, so here it is. A tribute to my favorite movie:
Brokeback to the Future

Ok, I'm leaving now. Gotta fold laundry and pack for Spring Break. You guys have a good one, and remember, give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
Adios
