The other day I found out that Google has these awesome online docs and spreadsheets. Several times in my journal I think I've asked for people to suggest books for me to read and I always lose the post somewhere. Thinking about it now I probably should have put it in my favorites but oh well! I've got a new idea.
Here is my new Suggest A Book spreadsheet. I've made it so anyone can view it and several people can edit it. So far Alissa, Andy, Rusty, Dorothy, Caly, Jeni, Isabel, and Reggie can add books to it, but I want more people! Barbara, Tami, Bethany, Ryan, William, Jackie, Liz, and Jennifer are a few of the people I'm hoping to add soon. So if you have a gmail address and would like to suggest something let me know what your address is so I can make you a collaborator. If you don't have a gmail address and would like one so you can suggest something let me know what your regular email addy is and I'll send you a gmail invite.
The spreadsheet should be fairly self explanatory in the AUTHOR(S) section you put the author or authors of the piece you're suggesting, in the TITLE OR SERIES column you put the name of the title or series you're suggesting, in the SUGGESTED BY section you put your name, nickname, or some handle that I'd recognize you by, finally in the REASON section I'm hoping to know why you loved the book or books you're suggesting or why you think I should read them. The COMMENT column is actually for me to respond to your suggestions. At the far right you'll also notice a little legend that will show you if I've bought or read your suggestion yet. And once I've read it I'll add it to the My Books spreadsheet I made that can be found
here. There's a number of things that I have read and hope to read here and another little legend at the far right.
