John imagines he’s already lived this life with Sherlock and visions often return to him in half-remembered dreams. Distant pasts where Sherlock and himself are inevitably intertwined, forever bound and seeking each other.
Often after chases, Sherlock and himself trudge up the stairs and collapse into their respective seats and John knows no other peace like this. Sherlock breathes life into him like no other thing on earth ever could. John hopes that the sincere, shy smile Sherlock often graces him with means that he feels the same way; that their lives were never meant to be spent apart.
