Tuitions fees (sequel)

May 14, 2012 09:04

Decidedly, I DON'T like when people are overly active when it comes to partisanship. I have a friend on Facebook, ALL her statuses are about the tuition fees, and ALL are pro red square. I'm not against the ideology behind the red square, but I'm certainly NOT in favour of blindly blaming the government and the police for EVERYTHING and making every single protester including people who commit vandalism a martyr. By being to blindly partial, she sounds like an extremist. It seems like any mean (including violence and vandalism) is good. She's making a bad reputation for the red square partisans.

I'm seeing red, and not because all of the red square links she shares. The one that infuriated me most this morning was about the "destroyed lives" of the poor "innocent" young people who smoked the subway in Montreal. "Moreover, the pictures taken of the suspects were from hidden camera, the police knows no shame, obviously!" WTH of a difference does it make?! They are budding terrorists! They created panic in a subway tunnel by smoking it up, but it was for a good cause, so we'll pardon them? THERE IS NO GOOD CAUSE WHEN IT COMES TO VANDALISM/VIOLENCE/TERRORISM. I'm ready to have my picture take by hidden cameras anytime if it can help to put criminals to jail.

It makes me mad when people excuse reprehensible acts solely because they where "for a good cause". The red square ideology is valid, but what I read from some of the red square partisans is revolting.

I am hiding this friend's statuses until the tuition fees conflict is over, I have enough of her blind partisanship. She might think she's a revolutionary spirit, but now that she's picked a side, she's a sheep who can't think for herself anymore. She was brain washed, completely. It's unfortunate.

tuition fees, hate
