Update
The toe is healing just fine. The tape and orthopedic shoe are working wonders for me. I have some slight pain in the rest of my foot as a result of having to walk differently, and the rest of my body is achey because my walk is, alas, out of alignment.
Other than that, I have been watching Golden Girls DVDs. I fell asleep for three hours yesterday while I was watching a hilarious episode of the gals: Dorothy had a small tumor in her foot and needed surgery--so she missed the tap dance recital for which she had been practicing. So funny. Trust me.
And that's when it dawned on me: I'm 71-years-old.
