Turbo Nerd has reared its pimpled head
I went shopping at the meridian mall with Oliver the other day and i came across this shirt, it said "i love Geeks" i thought, hey I love geeks, chris is a geek... those geeks ARE cute, i should get this... but it got me thinking...
There comes a time in every girls life where she has to come to terms with who she is, this past week has revealed much about myself. I have several dates in my head that im anticipating with much giddyness, yes, giddyness because thats what nerds do, they get giddy and they make those sounds that "giddy" people make, that nervous little laugh with the stupid grin and limp wrists the ever favorite index finger pusing up glasses with the giddy laugh. LOTR anyone? (my personal favorite) either way, the past week at work has pretty much consisted of talk of star wars or harry potter, we listened to the star wars III sound track several times at work, several weeks ago while i was in denial of my inner geek, dan geer brought in his $120 lightsaber, skepticle at first, i asked to play with it, i made it light up and down and listened to the "woooow, wooow skiiish" sounds and checked it over... and you know what! i thought it was cool!! and wouldve bought one myself if i couldve spared the change!! ( mind i didn't admit this to anyone)
not only that! the guy who played darth maul played with dan geers lightsaber at the big convention several weeks ago, so while i was watching episode I, (last night mind you) I couldn't help but to get, as joe would call it, a "fan boy boner" knowing that i touched a light saber darth maul had touched and did some sweet fencing moves with it. this stirred something inside me that has been sleeping for the past 6 years, which is the last time i got excited over star wars. ( i had a coloring book id work on a picture for hours trying to make it look realistic, i also have a tie fighter hanging in my old bedroom back at my parents house, i have a stuffed wicket which i used to wear his little hat around when i was wee) im not sure where i was with the one that came out 3 years ago, maybe my denial was in full effect, but not this year. definatly not, my inner geek has broken free and im pretty excited to see the final link to the star wars saga. OOOOOOO plus all the nerdy goodness in the months to come!
so i am a geek, ive come to terms with that and im ok with it, im gonna roll with this one, which brings me back to that "I love geeks" t-shirt, i should've looked for a larger size for chris

next week is star wars III, im there opening night with Dana and matt clay ( i loose points because i bought tickets today rather than the day they were first available)
july 16 is harry potter book #6 ( chris supports my inner geek and reserved me a copy, which he presented the invoice in an elvis card, he gets uber points for that)
nov 19 harry potter movie #4
dec 9th chronicles of narnia, the lion the witch and the wardrobe comes out in theatres, me and dan geer watched a trailer during break today, and maaaaaaybe we downloaded 2 star wars trailors too...
i also know that they're having another narnia trailor for the star wars movie too
the new zelda comes out this summer, i loose points not knowing the date for that either
