Do chickens matter at all?
So I suppose I'm finally sick of listening to PETA complaints or something, but I was wondering about the whole chickens being raised poorly and "tortured" and such. I've seen most of the pictures.
Who cares? They are here to provide food for man. What are we supposed to do? Provide each one with a personalized coup and fancy nameplate?
The chicken was created to be raised, killed and cleaned to be eaten. Some are pretty, but that's like 10% of them. I've been to country fairs.
I mean, what if we finally stopped eating chickens, and just ate vegetables? What the heck would be the purpose of the chicken? Eggs?
I hate eggs.
Unless of course they are sitting atop a slab of pork product squished between two ends of a croissant, with a thin slice of cheese melted on top. But then we have to talk about poor living conditions of pigs, and I don't even want to go down that road.
