Chapter one: Ages 0-1.
Jayne Molly Summers had been born to Josie and John Summers, a quiet girl even though she made the necessary crying sounds when slapped. She had started life well enough. Her mother and father doted on her from birth until she was old enough to walk.
She was 6 months when she was walking, still unable to actually say much but also working on picking up that habit. Her father had left them then, seeming to not care that he was leaving his daughter with his depressed wife.
He had left Jayne purely to try to keep her safe. She wasn’t at all safe. At the age of one she had a new father, her mother’s new husband also left though, soon. It seemed her mother was enough to drive any man away.
The beatings had yet to begin but the verbal bullying was there.
She was small for her age then, small and nervy. At the age of one Jayne was already learning to cope with bullying.
