EXHAUSTED

Did anyone get a great surprise this week? I sure did.

I've never had a "valentine" before, but I did this time around. Unfortunately, the surprise didn't go that smoothly. I've been hanging out with a mischievous dude that planned a Vday surprise almost three weeks ago. MAN, I'm oblivious. On Wednesday, I got home from school a little later than usual. And I was ecstatic that my dad wasn't at home! He had surgery and has been at the house a ton, basically driving me annoyed a little each day. So I was just reading Encyclopedia Dramatica when I heard a knock on the door. I could tell through the curtains that there were two or three people.

Instantly I became a scared and shushed down to listen to what was going on. I called my mom to see if any of our relatives were making a surprise visit-- nope, not that. Called our neighbor and my dad. I sure did get paranoid. Here's the kicker -- they were old men in suits. Now to a V-day veteran, it's obvious they're singing valentines right? WRONG! Not to me, I thought they were Shriner's members coming to the wrong house for a potluck or, jokingly, I thought they could be Scientologists coming to spread the word about Hubbard with me.

My friend had tricked me into thinking we were going to El Chico's, so when he kept calling back I assumed he's just telling me that we'd be eating soon and didn't answer. I was calling other people anyways, being a dumb scare-dy cat. I know, I know.....they are just old men.

Eventually he had to drive all the way over here and come knocking on my window. So I thought, "Oh, we're going to eat out now." And of course, when I went outside the cute old men handed me my cheesy V-day swag and sang me a ditty.

So I just made a big dumb dumb of myself. I live in a shady neighborhood, so I usually don't answer our door. Maybe I shouldn't have written this in my blog.......hmmmm.
