I thought conventions were only for comic books and Star Trek.

:) This wont be a very long entry.

On Sunday, my nephew, half-sister, and her brother and I went to New Jersey for the Salute To Supernatural convention. I've been into the show for a while. After watching the series once my brother got Season 1 on DVD around three years ago, I was hooked. It was around the time of their fourth or fifth season. My brother and I watch it all the time and I was ecstatic that my half-sister is even more obsessed than i am.

Anyway, I told my sister three months ago that SPN was having a convention near us. Once I sent the email, I got a "HELL YEAH, WE'RE GOING." reply and I'm not stupid enough to pass up the opportunity to go. The tickets weren't the most expensive things in the world but it was still a stretch.

We got to the hotel where the hotel was being held. I didn't know what to expect really, never having gone to a convention, but I suspected it would be close to a concert experience. I didn't expect to see that many SPN fans but it was awesome. People dressed up in shirts that declared their love for a certain character, as demons, or angels. (Just like my nephew.) My family and I waited on line for seats while waiting for the line the Jared & Misha photo op she paid for. When we got on what seemed to be one of the longest line I've been on, We saw Misha Collins walk past us. I nudged my sister's knee and laughed at her star struck face. I waved at Misha and he said hello. Seeing that my sister is probably near 30 years of age and i'm 17 and kept my cool was hilarious to me.

The line started to move quickly and once we got to the door, I saw Misha and Jared taking pictures with fans. I told my sister to look so she can get her nerves out then. That triggered a hyperventilating Michelle and I couldn't stop smirking. She LOVES Jared Padalecki more than i do and she was finally gonna be in the same room with him. The line went quickly and we took out picture. It took 2 seconds but it was awesome. *swoon.*

We then went to Misha and Jared's panel, ate at Wendy's, came back for my nephew's photo op with Misha, listened to Richard Spieght Jr's panel and i bought two bottles of salt lanyard clips.

In the show, Rock Salt protects you from demons. The salt is packed in this cute little bottle topped off with a cork. I clipped it onto my necklace. I bought the second one for Amanda since she's on the second season and is already emotionally invested in the show. She doesn't know about it yet. :)

It was a fun convention and Next year, if i have money, I'm going to go again but with Amanda. :D
