Just so that people I've told I've created this account won't come looking and see an entirely blank space, I've decided to write today about Bugs

I've been trying to attract him here with Mardi Gras as well. =)
I'm reading your journal because you're one of the handful of Australians who list polyamory as an interest. I've just moved back here and I'm looking for community. I have a whole bunch of friends who respect all sorts of relationships, so it seems there's less need for a "poly community" here, but I'd love to create some new circles of friends and maybe get a few people together to create the beginnings of a political movement. Anyhow, it seems we have a lot of LJ friends in common, including one or two of my lovers. It's a small world! =)
Anyhow, I hope you don't mind that I've added you to my friends list. (Some people prefer to be asked, apparently.)
There's a discussion on alt.polyamory right now about the Aussie posters (of whom I am one)meeting up, probably in Melbourne(near where I live). I'm hoping for late July, early August although one person maybe can't make it then.
Alas, I'll be in the U.S. again by then. I'll be in Melbourne next month, though. If the world's so tiny, you might even be going to the same party as me. Do you know Fabian?
Ah, alt.polyamory. I haven't been there for years! I never did get into it, though. I felt it was a little insular and that newbies kept saying the same things that newbies before them did. I wonder what my impression would be now...
You can e-mail me at grrooth@ihug.com.au if you like.
I don't know people, really, live I mean. I've been on a disability pension since 1988, no car for most of that time, and I'm shy. But if you want to meet for coffee or something that would be fine.
I'd love to meet for coffee. I'm also familiar with people who don't have much real-life social contact, and over the years I've befriended people with all sorts of disabilities, from blind people in wheelchairs to people lumped into the "too hard to diagnose" CFS category. A lot of them have found a real-life social life by getting together with people they've met on the Internet (or

Bugger... I tried to not sound presumptous! =/ Anyhow, I try not to look too ordinary myself, but I'm not exactly rolling in dough either right now.
Would early in the afternoon of Saturday the 8th work for you? Anywhere within reach of the tram network would work for me. Feel free to ring me on 04 1600 7645 if it's easier (I'll ring you back if need be) or e-mail "mikz at purpletrafficlight.net".
No worries. But don't forget to tell me that it's you... a lot of new LJ people have been e-mailing me lately because I've been doing interest searches.

I kinda thought lamingtons, pavs and timtams in the light of rattlers, black widows and poison ivy would leave us ahead down here.
OK, throw in a mardi gras.
