So, er... contrary to the announcement that was made at the recent Synod Assembly, my grandfather is not actually dead.
Explanation: Apparently some pastor's wife got a phone call from someone who had recently talked to my grandfather about their recently deceased ex-husband. This pastor's wife, however, got confused and thought that the deceased person in question was my grandfather, and called her husband, who was at the Synod Assembly at the time. The pastor then tells the bishop, who then announces it to everyone at the Synod Assembly.
So... nope, he's not dead. When my mother called me to tell me this story, I laughed so hard I forgot how to breathe.
Happy Father's Day, Grandpa! I'm very glad that the rumors of your death were greatly exaggerated. :)
